Our Services

What We Do

Lomond home care offers personal and functional care by promoting a standard of excellence which embraces fundamental principles of good care practices; working hand in hand with the multidisciplinary team, we plan to achieve the highest standards of care to promote independence and fulfil our service users’ expectations.

Live In Care

Live-In Services care provides comprehensive care and companionship to clients within their own homes. It’s suitable for individuals who need continuous assistance but prefer to stay in their own environment rather than move to a long-term care facility.

Full-Time Care: our carer lives in the home of the client for an agreed period providing services day and night. In this case, the carer requires a private space within the home for sleeping.
Rotational Care: This involves two or more of our carers rotating shifts (e.g., one week on, one week off) to maintain a high level of care and prevent carer burnout.

Respite Care

In Respite Care we provide temporary relief for primary caregivers, allowing them time off from the demands of caregiving. It can be scheduled regularly or arranged as needed to cover emergencies, vacations, or simply to give the caregiver a break. We provide varied options for respite care:

Hourly Respite Care: This option allows caregivers to take a few hours off while someone else steps in. It’s ideal for appointments, social engagements, or just some personal time.
Overnight Respite Care: Provides care during nighttime hours, which can be particularly challenging if the care recipient has sleep disturbances or needs frequent assistance.
Extended Respite Care: This can last from a few days to several weeks, suitable for longer breaks like family vacations or hospitalisation and recovery from illness (for the caregiver).
Meal preparation

Meal preparation in home care is about nourishing both body and soul. Our carers  will  assist with dietary and fluid intake, encourage participation in shopping, cooking and safe food hygiene.

Medication administration

Our carers involved in medication prompts are trained in safe handling of medication. Our carers will support you by:
– Providing medication reminders through verbal cues, alarms, or pill organizers.
– Assisting with administering tablets and creams.
– Requisitioning and collecting prescriptions from the pharmacy.

Complex/Specialized Care

Our carers provides complex care that requires specific skills and knowledge such as PEG care and feeding, catheter care, stoma care and dementia care

Companionship

Aging and impaired physical or mental functioning comes with challenges of isolation and confidence to carry out activities of living independently. Probably all you need is the presence of another being to cheer you on. Our carers will always be there for you to support and encourage you and provide the necessary company you might need within and out with your home.

Money Matters

Depending on your individual circumstances, you might need help with shopping, collection of pensions and benefits. Our carers are well trained on the ethical aspects and legal implications of managing someone else’s finances. Our carer will support you to pay your bills on time and will document any transactions done for transparency and accountability purposes.

Social engagement and staying active

Staying active and social engagement are vital for physical, mental, and emotional well-being, helping to improve quality of life and reduce cognitive decline. Our carers will accompany you to attend activities that you enjoy, such as senior-friendly events, classes, outings, religious clubs, bingo, day centres and college.

Personal Hygiene

Enhancing personal care in home settings not only improves health and safety but also greatly impacts quality of life. It involves respecting dignity, promoting independence, and meeting your individual needs. Our carers assist you with daily activities such as getting up, continence care, bathing/shower, oral hygiene, skin care, basic grooming, and dressing appropriately.

At Lomond home care, we recognise the importance of respecting the individual’s culture and values during end of life to ensure dignity is preserved.
